I recently decided to change one of my guest rooms around. Moving the bed from one wall to another has given me a different feel and the change has provided new spaces available to experiment with.
This vintage Ethan Allen Bed was purchased on eBay several years ago. I had loved one that a friend had but unfortunately it had been discontinued. FYI Never take no for an answer. Just because something is discontinued doesn’t mean you can’t find it through eBay or etsy or marketplace near you online.
The blue and white duvet is new from http://ballarddesigns.com The Bedspread is from http://ethanallen.comI wanted to add a little color to what had been a cream and beige motif for so long. This room was my oldest son’s and when he got married six years ago I decided to make it into a guest room. I hadn’t made any changes since, until now.
Above is a charming 100 year old antique wardrobe I found on Etsy. It is just what I was looking for.
I finally got my curtains today. They are blue gingham check from http://vermontcountrystore.com I absolutely love them. It gave the room the French country look I was hoping for . I was so thrilled with everything that I actually repainted the walls yesterday morning. I used BM White dove.
I hope this inspires you to think about placement. Perhaps you’ve had the bed against the same wall for 15 years, or the dresser in the same spot. Maybe change it up a bit. You might surprise yourself. What do you have to lose? Oh and don’t forget easy gliders if you are going to move furniture by yourself.
